Isn't the electrical or even firestorm better for Ikitursa? Why dark? For the profit/run?

Trig ships are at best average for PvE due to the ramping mechanic. In Electrical the Iki cannot benefit from the resist penalties and will have issues with damage requirements. At the moment, from my testing, even a triple sink Ikitursa will have time issues in T6 Firestorm. The exception for T6 that I found was in Darks. Relying on smartbombs, in a weather that forces enemies within their range, allows us to turn what are normally bad rooms for an Ikitursa into great rooms. That said, I deprecated the fit. I only recommend the MWD version as the Iki is very slow and can run into time issues due to AB speeds alone, even in Dark filaments.

I have not been able to get this fit to work in T5/6 darks. It lacks the neuting resistance and will die very quickly in certain rooms. Practice cannot compensate for a fitting unless there is something missed in terms of a silver bullet solution. I see you stopped running this fitting. Are you having issues as well? Did you make any changes to the fitting to keep going? The Iki is a great ship and making guides is tough. Hope you keep at it, we do appreciate your time and effort.

I still have the setup but haven't run it for other reasons. Like I said earlier by the time this version came around I had over 200 test runs plus what I have on live. The Abyss is a fun challenge for me but not something I sit in constantly. Lately, I've taken time off the game and when I'm around just worked on low-tier cheap setups. Iki isn't going anywhere though. -- For neuting, the worst rooms I've had are Sanshas. The trick is prioritizing Knights and Smiths. You will dip low on cap but by the time they burn through your reserves you should have killed a couple knights and the frigs should all be dying from the smartbombs. I tested a lot of combinations for the mids and this is strong enough to work. Gustav runs even less in his version.

Other rooms that have high neut pressure have lower incoming damage. Usually a combination of not running the MWD (because you don't need it most of the time and shouldn't perma run it) and pulsing the armor repper you should have more than enough cap. It's enough resistance that there are still moderate neuting spawns that I can just ignore. Things will be dead before you hit 0 cap.

Understandable. I will mess around with it some more and see what happens. I had a room with 8+ neuting cruisers and there was nothing that could be done. Time to experiment more in sisi, see if there is a way to counter that room. Thank you so much for replying.

Do you recall which cruiser room? All Sentinels? Dissipators should all be within your large smartbomb and Occult range even when tackled.

I have to report that I don't think this works, if you by works we mean works consistently. There are situation when one just can't finish in time and considering how expensive the build is, it doesn't seem worth it to run it at all. For example, got 4 fat drifer BS NPC spawns twice in a row and there is just no time to kill em fast enough so one have time to finish last room. So even tho I got relatively easy last room, the Leshaks, I just wasn't able to kill em in time. I imagine that getting twice Karen, is also kinda no-go because of time.

With practice your Deepwatcher rooms should be around 5 minutes 30 seconds on average. You will overheat on the first one a good bit, let the gun cool, then overheat on the third or fourth. This should not be a death room for you. Karen is also a good room for us and shouldn't be anywhere over 5 minutes.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong then, there is not much to do, just shoot em and overheat, 5:30 sounds very far from what I got, I did like 8 or something and that's with max skills except for disintegrator spec, but thats 2%. I also got some cruiser and few frigs along those 4 BS btw. Aside from this spawn, that seemed like kinda no no, I really hate the scramming damaviks, you can't kill em with SB, they just out rep it and hitting them with med weapons is super random when they are close and I can't pull range. Drones can't really hit em properly either, guess mainly because of the dark modifiers. I did like 20 runs, and got rekt I think twice, once on the Drek spawn where I did not focus BC's .. that was just screw up and then on this two in a row Deepwatcher spawns. I just feel like, this is super expensive and you'll die at some point, most probably. Or you think it's possible to do it 100% sucessfully ?

I've typed up a response three times. The character count limit here is aggravating. Eve mail me in game with additional questions but for now: Yes, I find it viable enough to have invested in it myself. None of those rooms should take that long. Scrams do not break the fit. Practice killing frigs while tackled. If you can't then you definitely will have problems with time. Practice more. I had over 200 runs by the time I posted this version of the Dark Iki. Record your runs. Look for what is actually taking up your time and where you are ahead of where you expected. It's the best way to learn.

Hey, i watched your videos and it looked very smooth. How hard would you describe, is flying the iki? Currently im T5 gamma farming, but i hate the agression swap from me to my drones, so im looking for a alternative.

Thanks. The main contributing factor behind it looking smooth is a LOT of practice. I don't believe the fit is difficult but you need to spend time learning to identify what rooms or combinations are contributing to a bad run. Most T6 setups are fighting the clock more than anything. You really can't step off the gas until you can see what the third room spawns.

You will need near max fitting skills to meet the powergrid requirements. Running Abyssal Entropic Radiation Sinks will bring you below the CPU requirements. For the weapons, you need max optimal range and tracking skills. Falloff is unnecessary. You want max weapon damage to account for runs where your smartbombs do nothing. The clock is the enemy there and you need to push as much damage through the turret as possible. Lastly, I also recommend having Energy Pulse Weapons to at least IV. If you're possibly short on skills then I recommend trying T5 or at least spending a lot of time on the test server.

Description

This is the latest and greatest version of the T6 Dark Ikitursa. The MWD saves us a lot of travel time and the large SB allows us to apply more damage in 50% rooms as well as against Sansha and Angel spawns.

This is one CPU over. I run Abyssal Entropic Sinks for a little more damage and make up the 1 CPU there. If you do not wish to do this (but I really think you should because it's quite an investment already) then swap to a T1 salvager.
